One of my earliest memories is my own mother bringing my sister home and feeding her while the rest of us lined up to feed our teddies and dolls.
I think this early exposure to the normality of Breastfeeding informed my own choices when it came to my babies.  I just fed them myself without any question or doubt.

It came as a surprise that it wasn’t easy! This was before Google existed and before breastfeeding support was available. I was on my own.
Through sheer stubbornness (and a lot of luck) I gritted my teeth and carried on, and it worked, but I can’t say I found it simple or enjoyable.

Fast forward 20 years, my experience in midwifery has been invaluable in adding to my knowledge and understanding of breastfeeding, the  issues and problems can occur, practical tips, solutions and advice. I have also done further study and am a qualified breastfeeding counsellor. Above all is the importance of sharing knowledge, experience, and advice, before the baby arrives. If you know how your body works, how to help it work efficiently, and what to do if you have a problem, you will have confidence in your ability to feed, nurture, and care for your baby.

I offer breastfeeding support visits for individualised assessment and advice. This is without charge in the Marlborough area.
These appointments can be up to 3 hours long and involve full assessment of feeding, identifying issues, and sharing practical solutions to support your feeding choices.

You don’t need to be breastfeeding or have feeding issues to come along to our weekly drop-in group. 

Maternity leave, pregnancy, and new baby life can be lonely. Your life as you knew it has changed! Meeting up with other local parents is hugely valuable.

No charge. All welcome. Coffee, cake, connect, and chat.

I offer both waterbirths and homebirths as options for those who desire a natural and comfortable birth experience. I provide all necessary equipment and support to ensure the safety of you and your baby. I will also provide postpartum care and support.
